Eric was born and raised in the Thunder Bay area and began playing hockey at age 6 with Norwest Minor Hockey.

He continued to play until after his final season of U18 where he transitioned into coaching and has been coaching each year since. Eric started coaching at the U18A division and was there for his first 7 seasons, spending the final season as a Head Coach as well as being an Assistant Coach with a U13AA team the same year.

The last 5 seasons he has been an Assistant Coach with the West End Bruins U18AA team and is in his 12th season of coaching.

Eric enjoys all aspects of coaching throughout the season, from building a team in the draft all the way through the year of practices, tournaments, and playoffs.

Away from the rink Eric is a Firefighter with the City of Thunder Bay, newly married and an avid Detroit Red Wings fan.

 

Jason is a self-motivated former Pro-Hockey Player with extensive experience in Leadership, organization and working with Teams.  He is a driven and accomplished Hockey Coach with a proven track record of helping athletes perform at their highest level of potential in the game of Hockey.

Jason was born in Belle River, Ontario in 1975. He went to Pavillon Des Jeunes Elementary School and L’Essor High School where he learned to speak fluent French.  Jason left home in grade 11 when he was 16 years old to play Jr. Hockey in Aylmer, Ontario which would evolve into a 3-year Major Junior career playing in the OHL for the Kingston Frontenacs.  Jason was selected in eighth round of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft to the Ottawa Senators.  He went on to play Professional Hockey for 8 seasons in various leagues such as ECHL, COHL, UHL, WPHL, QSPHL, AHL and IHL.

After retiring from hockey at the age of 28, Jason settled in Thunder Bay and joined the Ontario Provincial Police.  He has been a police officer now for over 21 years. Jason started and has maintained a continuous coaching repertoire for the same 21 years.  This involves coaching Professional Hockey, Youth Hockey, Football, Baseball, and Soccer. Over that time, he has also spent time on the Thunder Bay Kings Board of Directors, the President of the Law Enforcement Hockey Tournament, a volunteer for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Thunder Bay, an Instructor for CORE Hockey School and countless hours at the rink and fields for his 3 boys and 2 stepchildren.

Some of his recent coaching highlights include U13 AAA Thunder Bay Kings Bronze Medal Winners at the Ontario Provincial Championships (2022-2023) & U13 AA League Champions for the past three years.

Jason is passionate about the game of hockey and his ability to support youth development in sport and in life.  Jason enjoys helping young athletes discover and enrich their skills, discipline, and love of the game. Ultimately helping them to become successful, confident young men and women in the community.
