NEW FOR THE 2025-26 SEASON
Hockey Northwestern Ontario is introducing a Tiered Penalties model for all U11 and U13 hockey this season.
What does this mean?
Instead of all penalties being the same length, minor and major penalties will now scale in proportion to the length of the game periods.

-Better alignment with Hockey Canada’s Long-Term Player Development model
-Improved player and parent experience
This 2-year pilot program will ensure penalties are fair and consistent across different game formats, while keeping the focus on development.
